Osteopathy & Acupuncture

Being a patient of 6 knee surgeries and incomplete results, I sought out integrative medicine to help heal my knee pain and regain functionality. I combined manual medicine with acupuncture so that I could dance, run and play sports again.

Osteopathic manipulative treatment, or OMT,  involves using the hands to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury.   Osteopathy is used to help re-align bones, muscles and organs.  My skills include: osteopathy in the cranial field, visceral manipulation, high and low velocity techniques, myofascial release, reiki.  I treat pain conditions such as  low back pain, lumbar radiculopathy, neck pain, cervical radiculopathy, joint pain, headaches. I can also treat tinnitus, acid reflux, sympathetic overdrive, complex regional pain syndrome, anxiety and sleep disorders.

Acupuncture is the needling portion of Traditional Chinese Medicine which has been around for thousands of years.  I combine acupuncture with electro-acupuncture, ear acupuncture, cupping and infrared lamps in order to help reduce pain and inflammation.  The most recent medical literature shows that acupuncture is effective for chronic pains (ex. Back, neck, shoulder, knees). It can also be used for acute pain (even in the emergency department and military settings) as well as post-operative pain.
